New publication on the benefits of our hydrogel EHO-85 containing olive leaves extract in accelerating early wound healing.
A sub-analysis of previous clinical trial (1) conducted with the EHO-85 hydrogel in the treatment of patients with pressure ulcers, venous ulcers or diabetic foot has recently been published in the journal Pharmaceutics (2). On this occasion, the aim was to analyse the ability of the EHO-85 hydrogel to accelerate wound healing compared to a commonly used reference hydrogel. EHO-85 had a significantly superior effect over the comparator in wound area reduction and healing rate, accelerating wound healing in the second and fourth weeks of application (p: 0.002). This superiority is based on its optimal moisturizing capacity and excellent pH-lowering and antioxidant properties. According to the authors the ease of application of the amorphous hydrogel EHO-85, due to its rheological properties, and the acceleration it induces in early wound healing may contribute to better wound care compliance by patients and caregivers.
